A top price for José Villegas - as previously expected
The work Spanish Siesta by José Villegas was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. The price achieved of USD 579,000.00 (€ 496,143.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Spanish Siesta is the most expensive artwork by José Villegas that we have observed at auctions so far.
