Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century Paintings including Spanish Painting and Symbolism & the Poetic Vision, which included the work La Romería (The Procession) by José Villegas. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 14,877.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Villegas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish Siesta in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 579,000.00 (€ 496,143.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century Paintings including Spanish Painting and Symbolism & the Poetic Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Romería (The Procession) von José Villegas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 14.877,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Villegas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish Siesta im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.000,00 (€ 496.143,96).
