This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction at Phillips and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Parlá achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Writers' Bench: Grand Concourse & 149th Street, The Bronx in June last year with an auction result of HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 214,665.78).
