Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Divine Shepherdess by José de Paez was auctioned at Christies in New York in February last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,477.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José de Paez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Santísima Trinidad Y San Miguel Arcángel, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 53,125.00 (€ 39,489.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Divine Shepherdess von José de Paez kam im Februar letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.477,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von José de Paez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Santísima Trinidad Y San Miguel Arcángel beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 53.125,00 (€ 39.489,33) versteigert wurde.
