In December 2018 Il Ponte held the auction Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, which included the work Bar d'Anvers by José de Guimarães. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,000.00 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by José de Guimarães have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portuguese L'Automobile in December 2007 with an auction result of EUR 45,850.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Il Ponte die Auktion Arte Moderna e Contemporanea durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bar d'Anvers von José de Guimarães zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.000,00 und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José de Guimarães auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portuguese L'Automobile im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.850,00.
