Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Afêmea by José de Guimarães. It changed hands for a price of EUR 18,750.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José de Guimarães - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portuguese L'Automobile, which sold at auction in December 2007 for EUR 45,850.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afêmea von José de Guimarães zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 18.750,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von José de Guimarães mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portuguese L'Automobile beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für EUR 45.850,00 versteigert wurde.
