Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Naturaleza muerta con papaya y limón by José Agustín Arrieta for USD 59,750.00 (€ 50,781.91). This price was achieved in the auction LATIN AMERICAN ART at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Agustín Arrieta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Costeño in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 932,500.00 (€ 716,756.34).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion LATIN AMERICAN ART bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Agustín Arrieta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit El Costeño im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 932.500,00 (€ 716.756,34).
