Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Sirvienta by José Agustín Arrieta was sold in the Latin American Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 84,000.00 (€ 65,456.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Agustín Arrieta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Costeño in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 932,500.00 (€ 716,756.34).
