Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams held the auction The Gift of Photographs, which included the work Holy Fools (SALVADOR DALI) by Jonas Mekas. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,430.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jonas Mekas have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2007 the work Cassis Summer, 1966 tiré du film 'Notes for Jerome No. 48' was auctioned for EUR 2,640.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Gift of Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Holy Fools (SALVADOR DALI) von Jonas Mekas zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.430,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Jonas Mekas konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2007 die Arbeit Cassis Summer, 1966 tiré du film 'Notes for Jerome No. 48' für EUR 2.640,00 versteigert.
