Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Spirit of a Dead Land by Jon Molvig. The price achieved of AUD 8,225.00 (€ 4,858.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jon Molvig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian gravedigger No. Ii, which sold at auction in August 2008 for AUD 20,400.00 (€ 11,908.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spirit of a Dead Land von Jon Molvig zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 8.225,00 (€ 4.858,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jon Molvig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian gravedigger No. Ii beobachtet, die im August 2008 für AUD 20.400,00 (€ 11.908,46) versteigert wurde.
