Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jon Molvig could be acquired at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian the Passengers changed hands for AUD 9,000.00 (€ 5,253.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jon Molvig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian gravedigger No. Ii, which sold at auction in August 2008 for AUD 20,400.00 (€ 11,908.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jon Molvig konnte im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wechselte die Arbeit Australian the Passengers für AUD 9.000,00 (€ 5.253,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jon Molvig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian gravedigger No. Ii beobachtet, die im August 2008 für AUD 20.400,00 (€ 11.908,46) versteigert wurde.
