Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Boy Climbing onto a Chair by Jon Molvig. The price achieved of AUD 4,700.00 (€ 2,835.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jon Molvig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian gravedigger No. Ii in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 20,400.00 (€ 11,908.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boy Climbing onto a Chair von Jon Molvig zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.700,00 (€ 2.835,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jon Molvig auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian gravedigger No. Ii im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 20.400,00 (€ 11.908,46).
