This artwork by Jon Jaylo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian auction, the work The Value Of Life sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 13,048.04) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 68,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jon Jaylo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bright Days Are Upon Us, which sold at auction in October 2012 for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 49,776.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jon Jaylo erzielte im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian wurde die Arbeit The Value Of Life für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 13.048,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 68.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jon Jaylo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bright Days Are Upon Us beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 49.776,20) versteigert wurde.
