Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Once Upon A Dreamer'S Glimpse by Jon Jaylo was worth HKD 275,000.00 (€ 25,396.14) to a buyer in October 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jon Jaylo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bright Days Are Upon Us sold at auction in October 2012 with the realized price of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 49,776.20).
