This artwork by Jon Jaylo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Forever sold for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 12,236.10) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jon Jaylo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bright Days Are Upon Us in October 2012 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 49,776.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jon Jaylo erzielte im April 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Forever für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 12.236,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 65.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jon Jaylo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bright Days Are Upon Us im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 49.776,20).
