Sold at the upper estimate price
In November 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Project 1952 by John Wells. The auction ended at the price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,415.57), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Wells have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Structure In Oval in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Project 1952 von John Wells zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.415,57) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Wells auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Structure In Oval im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39).
