Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract Composition by John Wells was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The price achieved of GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,214.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Wells have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Structure In Oval in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 68,062.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Abstract Composition von John Wells kam im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.340,00 (€ 13.214,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Wells auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Structure In Oval im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 68.062,39).
