Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Winter; and Summer by John Wainwright was sold in the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES auction at Christies in London in March 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,427.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Wainwright have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, Lillies, Tulips, Poppies And Other Flowers In A Vase In A Classical Garden in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 44,400.00 (€ 65,803.60).

Die Arbeit Winter; and Summer von John Wainwright wurde im März 2001 in der Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.427,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
