This artwork by John Wainwright achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2007. In the The Lyndon Goodwin Harris Collection of Watercolours by Albert Goodwin, Joseph Edward Southall & Other Artists auction, the work Head of a gypsy girl sold for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,172.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wainwright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Lillies, Tulips, Poppies And Other Flowers In A Vase In A Classical Garden in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 44,400.00 (€ 65,803.60).

In der Auktion The Lyndon Goodwin Harris Collection of Watercolours by Albert Goodwin, Joseph Edward Southall & Other Artists wurde die Arbeit Head of a gypsy girl für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.172,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00.
