Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Still life with flowers and stuffed birds in a glass dome by John Wainwright. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,216.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wainwright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Lillies, Tulips, Poppies And Other Flowers In A Vase In A Classical Garden in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 44,400.00 (€ 65,803.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with flowers and stuffed birds in a glass dome von John Wainwright zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.216,15) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wainwright erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roses, Lillies, Tulips, Poppies And Other Flowers In A Vase In A Classical Garden im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.400,00 (€ 65.803,60).
