Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Red And White Grapes In A Basket, With Peaches, A Plum, Strawberries And White Currents, A Bird'S Nest And Peacock Feather On A Stone Ledge by John Wainwright was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,446.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wainwright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Lillies, Tulips, Poppies And Other Flowers In A Vase In A Classical Garden in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 44,400.00 (€ 65,803.60).

Als die Arbeit Red And White Grapes In A Basket, With Peaches, A Plum, Strawberries And White Currents, A Bird'S Nest And Peacock Feather On A Stone Ledge von John Wainwright im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.446,19) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wainwright erzielen.
