Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kilns on the Thames by John Varley was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September this year. The price achieved of GBP 704.00 (€ 704.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Varley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Plains of Marathon in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 19,120.00 (€ 29,284.45).

Die Arbeit Kilns on the Thames von John Varley kam im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 704,00 (€ 704,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Varley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Plains of Marathon im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.120,00 (€ 29.284,45).
