Upper estimate price exceeded by 32 %.
In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work ‘Question Time’ (‘Mr Gl-Dst-Ne (As Mr Micawber, “For This Occasion Only”) “I Am Delighted To Add That I Have Now An Immediate Prospect Of Something Turning Up. I Am Not At Liberty To Say In What Direction!’ – David Copperfield’) by John Tenniel. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,188.00 (€ 1,352.60), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Tenniel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ‘Nuts To Crack’ in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,310.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer durch, in der auch die Arbeit ‘Question Time’ (‘Mr Gl-Dst-Ne (As Mr Micawber, “For This Occasion Only”) “I Am Delighted To Add That I Have Now An Immediate Prospect Of Something Turning Up. I Am Not At Liberty To Say In What Direction!’
