In April 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The Whaling Bank, 'Charles W Morgan' by John Stobart. Other works by John Stobart have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 90,000.00 (€ 67,801.72) in February 2005 for the work The Charles W. Morgan in company with the bark Janet of New Bedford and other whaling ships north of the Bering Straits.
