Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Velsheda Shows Her Paces by John Steven Dews. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 61,148.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Steven Dews - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Westward Reaching Through Cowes Roads, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 120,000.00 (€ 178,095.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Velsheda Shows Her Paces von John Steven Dews zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 61.148,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Steven Dews mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Westward Reaching Through Cowes Roads beobachtet, die im Dezember 2006 für GBP 120.000,00 (€ 178.095,02) versteigert wurde.
