Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Letting out the sails, Sir Lancelot by John Steven Dews. The price achieved of GBP 510.00 (€ 594.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Steven Dews achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Westward Reaching Through Cowes Roads in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 178,095.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Letting out the sails, Sir Lancelot von John Steven Dews zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 510,00 (€ 594,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Steven Dews erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Westward Reaching Through Cowes Roads im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.000,00 (€ 178.095,02).
