Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Mariquita overhauling Attair with Mariette ahead to windward, St Tropez, 2008' by John Steven Dews was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,233.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Steven Dews achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Westward Reaching Through Cowes Roads in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 178,095.02).

Die Arbeit 'Mariquita overhauling Attair with Mariette ahead to windward, St Tropez, 2008' von John Steven Dews kam im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.233,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Steven Dews erzielen.
