It achieved a price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,636.60), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by John Steven Dews have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Westward Reaching Through Cowes Roads in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 178,095.02).

Die Arbeit Lulworth taking line honours at Cowes Week, 1926 von John Steven Dews wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.636,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Steven Dews auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Westward Reaching Through Cowes Roads im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.000,00 (€ 178.095,02).
