In July 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work The Approach to the Cascade of Terni, Umbria, Italy; and View of Cortona, Tuscany, Italy by John 'Warwick' Smith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,459.86), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John 'Warwick' Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St. Cosimato And Remains Of The Claudian Aqueduct: Situated On The River Anio, 10 Miles Above Tivoli, In The Apennines; And Port Of Terracina, And Ruins Of Anticul Anxur, Situated On The Confines Of The Roman Territories, Entering The Kingdom Of Napl, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 16,100.00 (€ 21,8

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.459,86) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
