Upper estimate price exceeded by 56 %.
The work Portrait Of Miss Hammond by John Smart was sold in the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III auction at Sothebys in London in December 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,080.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Muhammad 'Ali Khan, Nawab Of Arcot And Prince Of The Carnatic (1718-1795) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 120,500.00 (€ 153,620.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
