This artwork by John Smart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait Of Gertrude, Duchess Of Bedford, Née Leveson-Gower (1715-1794) sold for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,440.44) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Muhammad 'Ali Khan, Nawab Of Arcot And Prince Of The Carnatic (1718-1795) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 120,500.00 (€ 153,620.47).

In der Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Gertrude, Duchess Of Bedford, Née Leveson-Gower (1715-1794) für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.440,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00.
