Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Young Girl by John Smart was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,351.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Smart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Muhammad 'Ali Khan, Nawab Of Arcot And Prince Of The Carnatic (1718-1795) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 120,500.00 (€ 153,620.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Girl von John Smart kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.351,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Smart erzielen.
