Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Unloading Boats by John Singer Sargent was auctioned at Christies in New York in October last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 151,200.00 (€ 152,204.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Singer Sargent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work San Geremia in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 9,087,500.00 (€ 7,787,060.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Unloading Boats von John Singer Sargent kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 151.200,00 (€ 152.204,55) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Singer Sargent erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit San Geremia im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.087.500,00 (€ 7.787.060,84).
