Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work Summer Outing by John Schwatschke. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 896.25 (€ 1,344.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Schwatschke have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2006 the work Double Vision was auctioned for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,627.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Summer Outing von John Schwatschke zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 896,25 (€ 1.344,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von John Schwatschke konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2006 die Arbeit Double Vision für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.627,41) versteigert.
