Auction result misses estimated price range

In May 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work The Country Matchmaker by John Schwatschke for GBP 564.00 (€ 883.23). This price was achieved in the auction THE IRISH SALE at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Schwatschke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Vision, which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,627.41).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im Mai 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Country Matchmaker von John Schwatschke für GBP 564,00 (€ 883,23) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE IRISH SALE bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Schwatschke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Vision beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.627,41) versteigert wurde.
