In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian & Edwardian Art, which included the work Their Christmas Eve by John Sargent Noble. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,500.00 (€ 8,927.47), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Sargent Noble achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Watching the stalkers in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 136,120.69).

Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Their Christmas Eve von John Sargent Noble zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.500,00 (€ 8.927,47) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Sargent Noble erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Watching the stalkers im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 109.250,00 (€ 136.120,69).
