This work of art by John Rawlings could be acquired at Artcurial in Paris in November 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photography auction, the work Evelyn Frey, Vers 1951 changed hands for EUR 1,611.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,800.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Rawlings - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arched Nude, circa 1960, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,310.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Rawlings konnte im November 2007 bei Artcurial in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photography wechselte die Arbeit Evelyn Frey, Vers 1951 für EUR 1.611,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.800,00 – 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Rawlings mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arched Nude, circa 1960 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.310,65) versteigert wurde.
