This artwork by John R. Grabach achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2016. In the American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation auction, the work Washday In Spring sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,086.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John R. Grabach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pennsylvania, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 57,600.00 (€ 54,064.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John R. Grabach erzielte im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation wurde die Arbeit Washday In Spring für USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.086,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John R. Grabach mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pennsylvania beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 57.600,00 (€ 54.064,20) versteigert wurde.
