In October 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Under the Bridge by John R. Grabach. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,112.50 (€ 4,846.22), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John R. Grabach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pennsylvania in May this year with an auction result of USD 57,600.00 (€ 54,064.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Under the Bridge von John R. Grabach zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.112,50 (€ 4.846,22) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John R. Grabach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pennsylvania im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 57.600,00 (€ 54.064,20).
