Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of A Young Girl by John Neagle for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,490.31). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Neagle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Jacket, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 40,000.00 (€ 31,113.88).
