Auction result well in line with expectations
The work #3-1963 by John McLaughlin was sold in the Art of Collecting: A Pacific Island Connoisseur of Art and Design auction at Christies in New York in March this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 176,400.00 (€ 162,251.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John McLaughlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work V-1957, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 516,500.00 (€ 437,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit #3-1963 von John McLaughlin wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Art of Collecting: A Pacific Island Connoisseur of Art and Design bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 176.400,00 (€ 162.251,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John McLaughlin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit V-1957 beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 516.500,00 (€ 437.230,17) versteigert wurde.
