In October 2003 Christies in Beverly Hills held the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN & AMERICAN PAINTINGS, which included the work Zion Canyon, Utah by John Marshall Gamble. The »bidding war« ended at USD 41,825.00 (€ 36,028.08), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Marshall Gamble have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shore Coryopsis in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 182,000.00 (€ 214,470.89).

Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in Beverly Hills die Auktion CALIFORNIA, WESTERN & AMERICAN PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zion Canyon, Utah von John Marshall Gamble zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 41.825,00 (€ 36.028,08) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Marshall Gamble auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shore Coryopsis im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.000,00 (€ 214.470,89).
