Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Wild Lilac and Poppies by John Marshall Gamble. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,360.00 (€ 14,171.05). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Marshall Gamble achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shore Coryopsis in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 182,000.00 (€ 214,470.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wild Lilac and Poppies von John Marshall Gamble zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.360,00 (€ 14.171,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Marshall Gamble erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shore Coryopsis im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.000,00 (€ 214.470,89).
