Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Joyous Spring by John Marshall Gamble was sold in the California Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 89,400.00 (€ 81,958.20). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Marshall Gamble - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shore Coryopsis, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 182,000.00 (€ 214,470.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Joyous Spring von John Marshall Gamble wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion California Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 89.400,00 (€ 81.958,20) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Marshall Gamble mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shore Coryopsis beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 182.000,00 (€ 214.470,89) versteigert wurde.
