Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian self-Portrait by John Longstaff was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 11,400.00 (€ 6,654.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Longstaff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Master Rupert Ryan, 1898 in August 2021 with an auction result of AUD 61,500.00 (€ 52,118.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian self-Portrait von John Longstaff kam im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 11.400,00 (€ 6.654,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Longstaff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Master Rupert Ryan, 1898 im August 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 61.500,00 (€ 52.118,64).
