Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Levee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work without title sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,267.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Levee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work February Iv 1960, which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 40,343.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Levee erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.267,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Levee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit February Iv 1960 beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 40.343,13) versteigert wurde.
