Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Shirt by John Koch was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,250.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Koch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Siesta in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 596,075.00 (€ 506,263.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Shirt von John Koch kam im Mai 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.250,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Koch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Siesta im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.075,00 (€ 506.263,80).
