Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Manuscript I by John Koch was worth USD 176,775.00 (€ 162,806.23) to a buyer in January this year. This price was achieved in the auction American Art | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Koch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Siesta, which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 596,075.00 (€ 506,263.80).
