In October 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Evening Glow by John Joseph Enneking. The »bidding war« ended at USD 73,000.00 (€ 50,456.18), 22% above the upper estimate. Other works by John Joseph Enneking have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 76,375.00 (€ 87,847.94) in November 2000 for the work Coaster's Retreat.
