In May 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Cicely, Paula and White Heather heading to windward off Cowes by John J. Holmes for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,025.18). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John J. Holmes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Astra, Candida and Shamrock (V) racing off Cowes, 1934 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,238.11).

Im Mai 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cicely, Paula and White Heather heading to windward off Cowes von John J. Holmes für GBP 875,00 (€ 1.025,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John J.
